PROs:
- Has multiple LEDs- White, Blue, Green, and Red. Each head has its respective color so you know which is which.
-Runs on 2 AAA batteries, which are widely available.
- Can be used on multiple tasks, red for night vision, white for everyday use, blue to leak/body fluid detection, and green for signaling or hunting.
- Has a sturdy pocket clip that will keep your penlight from sliding out and getting lost.
- The LED heads are easily interchangeable.
- Comes with a nice nylon carrying case that has a long slot to put the penlight in with the current LED head, and three small slots to carry the remaining 3 heads. It has a belt loop for vertical carry, but I think it's too bulky to carry on your belt.
CONs:
- The penlight feels like it's made of cheap materials. The only metal I could find was the clip. It has a good rubber grip on the body though, but it still feels like its made of cheap plastic. It does feel a little more solid once you put the batteries in.
- Some of the LEDs seem to be scratched, and they emit a distorted beam. I noticed this with the green and blue LEDs.
-The heads are also made of cheap plastic, I can even see some plastic shavings from screwing and unscrewing the heads from the penlight's main body.
Despite its minor flaws, the commodity of having 4 Penlights in one is great. The penlight can be taken anywhere and several tasks can be accomplished with it. It is somewhat steep in price though. You can get a much better Streamlight Penlight for the price of the Gerber Foreman, but then again the Streamlights usually only come in one color and without the nice case.
