I am an amateur astronomer and wanted this light to assist in setting up my telescope in dark locations. I have found that it's single LED bulb in Red is absolutely useless for my purposes. Perhaps if you needed something to read maps or charts at night with, and you needed it to be waterproof, then maybe this light could be useful. It's a very solid design.
