I initally bought this tool in '97 while in the military for one reason , it opened with one hand so I could remove radio antennas from my Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Little did I know a the time how useful this tool was. I say was, because of all the things this tool is, unfortunately,it is not loss or theft proof. My Gerber has helped me fix an outboard motor that quit while we were fishing, cut up a sub sandwich when there was no knife at the summit, filed off sharp edges of my kids toys, and just been a great all around tool when someone says "Got a knife?" Unfortunately the wire cutters will only cut soft metals but mine has cut and stripped many wires. Another big plus; I only had to sharpen the knives twice in 13 years.
