I've had this for a couple of years, and the blade locks open as solidly as when I bought it - no jiggle or play. Once you become familiar with it, it's very easy to open and close with one hand - great if you are holding, say, a box that needs to be opened in one hand and need to grab your knife with the other.It may be a bit largish for casually pulling out in the presence of other people - a bit intimidating perhaps - but a very useful size, and the serration comes in handy for certain hard-to-cut materials. If I ever decide to get a smaller knife, I'll be sure it has the main features of this one: one-hand opening and solidly locking blade.
