Review of Gerber 46551 E-Z-Out Jr Serrated Edge Knife

For the price this is a lot of knife.The locking system is well made, and the action smooth.I cleaned two doe with this little knife, and used the serrations to cut through the pelvic bone instead of a saw.Still shaving sharp!The steel is a little softer than what I would like, but easy to sharpen, and takes a great edge.For the price you can't expect ats34 or s30v.I will probably buy another just to have a spare in case I lose one.

Review of Gerber 22-41773 Sliding Saw

Used it for the first time during a camping trip and it broke that same day.Very little wood was on the ground, so it required constantly cutting down branches to feed the fire.After it the initial bent it was all downhill b/c sawing become difficult and it eventually broke in 2 pieces.It was all during normal use, so it is way too fragile.

Review of Gerber 30-000027 CRT Cut and Release Tool

I do animal rescue and transport work and when transporting animals in metal crates we sometimes use plastic ties to wire the crates together for stability. When we deliver the animals and want to fold the crates down we need something to cut the ties with. We sometimes use pocket knives but decided to try one of the Cut and Release Tools. I have been using it now for a few months and find it working very well. It cuts most size ties on the first try and is small enough to slip in a shirt pocket.
It does not feel real sturdy in the hand but so far it has worked as advertised under some trying conditions. If it breaks in the next few months I will edit this review and bring the reader up to date.

Review of Gerber 46971 E-Z Out Rescue Knife, Yellow, Blunt Tip

Gerber thought of almost everything. This knife is great for river rescue. The bright yellow color makes it easy to see underwater or along the riverbank if dropped. The large thumb hole on the blade is nice for one handed operation. The knife is light weight but still strong and sturdy. The problem with the knife is there is no lanyard hole. If I am working underwater I wouldn't mind having a lanyard around my wrist incase the knife slips out of my hand. If you drop something while working in whitewater and it doesn't float you are not getting it back.

Review of Gerber 22-01968 Remix Clip Folder Knife with Fine Edge

I like the knife for the most part, but I do not advise buying until Gerber fixes the way it locks! The plastic in the spine bends and fails if any rope cutting force is applied. Love the edge and the way it feels that I give 5 stars but Locking is a complete 0. Suggest fixed blade version of this knife if you must have. I recommend Gerber trades Either the plastic in the spine with stainless or aluminum or redesigns with lever lock back which would make it easier to open.

I bought this knife 10 years ago and I use it almost daily. It never leaves my pocket unless I'm using it. It holds an edge, is easy to open and close and it's small and light. The finger groves on the handle make it easy to hold when using it. Highly recommended.
