Review of Gerber Infinity Ultra LED Task Light, Red #22-80013

I work at Keck Observatory where suddenly getting stuck in the dark is a regular experience, and some places you can get stuck could be quite dangerous. You learn quickly to always have a light of some sort at the ready.I have carried a Gerber Infinity for a few months now and it is exactly what I needed, very small, it fits in a side pouch to my cell phone case, thus I never forget to have it with me.The single LED is quite bright, easily bright enough to walk around with or to work with, though not as bright as the bigger LED flashlights.I still have yet to replace the battery after three months despite regular use.At first I did not like the lack of a rear button switch like some lights, but have found that the screw type switch never gets accidentally activated and now prefer it.Very solid construction, nothing cheap about how it is put together.I can wholeheartedly recommend it!

Product Description:
LED lights are incredible-they use hardly any power, yet kick out a huge amount of light for their size. They're reliable too, as the LEDs themselves are built inside a solid case, making them more durable than incandescent lights with their easily-shattered glass bulbs. And consider this: while the average incandescent bulb may last 50,000 hours-at best-before it burns out, an LED can last 100,000 hours or more.
Like many other manufacturers, Gerber has started offering a line of LED flashlights, including the Infinity Ultra Task. In addition to the durability and longevity you get via the LED bulbs, this little light features epoxy-coated circuitry, which means its insides won't fall to pieces if you drop it or accidentally smack it against a rock. According to the manufacturer, the Infinity Ultra is waterproof down to 10 feet, too.
Though the Infinity Ultra's beam is very bright for its size, this is not the best flashlight for navigating unlit country roads at night or for exploring abandoned warehouses-in these cases you'd want more than the 30-foot beam you get with this light. It is perfect for camping, however, where its durability, small size, and light weight make it ideal for hauling in a pack and illuminating a tent.
Overall, a great little product from a reliable manufacturer. Includes one AA battery.--Josh Dettweiler
