This surprised me.I have had this knife about two weeks, and the thumb-stud popped outI thought "OK I don't have to have it, I can use the hole to open the blade like a spyderco.
SURPRISE!!!the thumb-stud acts as a brace against the handle for support.
This is the ONLY support for the blade.Without the stud, the blade flops back and forth about an inch.
I managed to get the stud back in, but it continues to back out over time with use.
Seems like a poor design when a removable piece is the only blade support.
I would expect better from Gerber.
